Independent educational website

PrinterTutor is an independent educational website with step-by-step lessons that teach beginners how to set up, connect, use, maintain and troubleshoot a home or small-office printer. We are not a printer manufacturer, retailer, repair company, authorized service center, warranty provider or official support portal.

General educational information

Our lessons are general information. Control panels, menus, messages, supplies and features vary by printer model, firmware and operating system version, and may not match your setup. Lessons are not a substitute for your printer’s manual or the manufacturer’s support.

No affiliation or endorsement

We are not affiliated with, authorized by or endorsed by HP, Canon, Epson, Brother, Lexmark, Xerox, Microsoft, Apple or any other company named on the site. Names are used only to identify products and compatibility. Links to official pages are provided for your convenience.

Drivers and software

We never host or distribute drivers or software. Download printer software only from the manufacturer’s official website, Windows Update or Apple. Be wary of sites or pop-ups offering driver bundles, driver “updaters” or paid support.

Safety

Follow the safety information in your printer’s manual. Switch off and unplug the printer before reaching inside for jams or cleaning. Laser printers have hot parts inside; let them cool and never touch the fuser area. Never open covers that need tools or bypass safety switches. Keep ink and toner away from children and pets. Stop using a printer that smokes, sparks, smells of burning or has a damaged power cord.

No repairs, support or guarantees

We do not repair printers or provide technical support, and we cannot guarantee that any step will fix your problem. If a lesson doesn’t help, contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician.

Accuracy

We review lessons before publishing and update them when we learn of changes. Each lesson shows its published date. If you spot an error, please email support@printertutor.com.
